Why does service take so long?

 

Service is done on a first-in-first-out basis. Computers are worked on in the order they come in. Some systems wind up taking longer than others to fix. Sometimes a repair is as easy as swapping out a defective CD ROM drive, and sometimes there might be multiple software and/or hardware issues that take more time to troubleshoot. Being thorough and doing our job better than anyone else in town means being in high demand. That’s why all systems in for any service are scanned for viruses and spyware, are cleaned inside and out, and the Windows service packs updated. We believe that our capable technicians are worth the wait. Of course if you're in a real rush we offer Express service. For more information see our In-House Service page.

Why does ShowtimePC want you to bring your laptop in for a RAM upgrade?

 

We have always done Laptop RAM upgrades for free while you wait. You don’t have to worry about damaging your computer or the new RAM. We want you to get the right RAM, and if we put it in we’ll boot up the system and make sure its running. Compatibility between motherboards and brands of RAM can be tricky. We’ll make sure it works, and this reduces the number of trips you’ll have to make back to the store if you get the wrong piece.

Why is a Showtime computer more expensive than a Dell or an E-machine?

 

Hey, you get what you pay for. Take a look at our display systems and see for yourself how well they are put together. Our systems are built with quality name-brand parts that are industry standard. We also offer local support. You can walk into the store and talk to us. You can call on the phone, and we’ll answer (unless we’re closed, see store hours). You won’t be talking to somebody in an overseas outsourced call center. We don’t do proprietary, and we don’t sell you down the river with a system that locks you in to weird scheme of over-priced replacement parts and restore discs instead of a real Windows disc. We do what we do best, and of course we’ll still fix your Dell or HP if that’s what you decide to buy.

Why is your return policy so strict?

 

We are not a ”try before you buy” kind of store. You would not want to buy a product that is suppose to be new, and then discover it had been sold before to someone else. We can’t return non-defective merchandise to our vendors, and we are not in a position to take a huge loss on something by selling it as used. Not to mention that once a part is out of our store it creates an inventory nightmare if stuff keeps coming and going. We’ll gladly exchange something in the first 30 days if it’s defective. If you can’t figure out your new part our techs can do the work in our shop.

What do you have against certain name brands?

 

Without naming names, there are some big names that are absent from our inventory, usually for a reason. We’ve been doing this a long time, and there are some brands out there that have proven to us that they are not worthy of us stocking them. That’s not just the generic junk, but some national names too. If something has given us a problem in the past, we don’t want the hassle, and we don’t want you to have the hassle either.

Your prices are higher than on the internet. Why?

 

They should be. We are not an on-line only outfit. We have real walls and real people too. Plus you can have your purchase today without paying shipping.

Will you come on-site to preform basic installs?

 

No job is too large or too small for Showtime Computers on-site staff. We can do most jobs while you wait! We can check for viruses and spyware or diagnose internet connectivity issues.
